Today I am moved to help you find acceptance. Yet, being me I have to add the play on words….find your Accept Dance.
The main reason I started this blog is to address this issue. “Be you.” I feel so strongly about this. Mainly, there has to be a shift in perception toward how you talk to yourself with love and how to talk to those you may not agree with or understand. Do it with tolerance and respect, otherwise known as love, always. A shift toward acceptance to self and other beings on the planet is a must. Here are a few tips to help.
Spring has finally arrived, yet it is still cold outside.
Honestly, I am really glad!
Mother Earth is cooling and healing herself. I hope we learn from what is happening now and ask do we really need to use fossil fuels anymore?
So this week letz talk about having a routine. AKA “RUUUUUTEEN”
Looking out my window this morning, I saw a man and his face looked so worn and sad. He had his phone to his ear and was just gazing vacantly at the trees. I wondered what his story was, so I waved at him. He did not wave back, but I think he wanted to.
In this strange time, where we can do absolutely nothing and truly, no one can do anything about it, it is so important to have a routine. Here are a few tips to help keep and create a routine.
This week I want to share examples of being true to self.
Embracing your uniqueness.
Here are two individuals that I go to as examples in remembering your true self. It is not that we are not all one, but we each have a unique song to express.
I like to think of it as being part of a massive constellation of stars. These are but only two parts within the constellation. Every star is equally important and valuable to the whole.
Your expression is another star perhaps not as visible at present, but waiting to shine.
Spend a few moments today in your brightness.
Smile, you are perfect just as you are.
So, how do we get there?
This past month has been so difficult to watch.
So difficult to imagine for our healthcare professionals.
It is a reminder of how much we are not in control, no matter how much we try.
The need to regain what is called normal again, is a cry we hear more and more.
This week I wanted to share things that can give one peace.
- Recognize your limitations. Find something you can do and do it. It can be as simple as clipping the edges off that plant you love to look at and care for. Comb your dog’s and cat’s hair. They need to look fabulous like we all do.
- Listen to music, write, walk, breathe, meditate or just be. There is no need to do anything. Love others in mind or body. We are all connected. No one is ever alone, even in death.
- Pray, for others and for yourself. Ask for guidance even if you do not believe in a religion. Listen to your heart.
How many times have we heard this?
You need to listen to me!
Especially in these divisive times, when many of us have different ideas about things, listening to each other is a skill one can always strengthen.
The hardest thing is to just listen to another.
There is no judgement or having an expectation of the other.
A classic example of this is thinking that other “should just know me.”
No one can read your mind.
The most important is that both people in a conversation need to feel heard.
Many times, if this is achieved even if you just walk away one can feel valued even if you disagreed.
Just say “I hear you.”
Agree to disagree.
Yet, I hope to take it a step further for the sake of this blog.
One’s squiggly self must be honored. Your uniqueness must be honored in any conversation.
So if you don’t feel you have been heard, ask for it.
In reality, we all want the same thing, we want to be valued.
We want to be heard.
Try to be responsible for your end of a conversation
and be ALL EARS…..no expectations or judgments.
As I have spoken about in creating this blog, now more than ever finding one’s squiggly song, the thing that makes you unique, now, you have been given an opportunity to find it and express it.
What will you do?
To remind you...a squiggly song is that thing that you must do, or a part of you dies inside.
It is that dramatic because whenever you sing this song, do that thing, you lose track of time, it is effortless, it brings you joy.
Yep, it is the real reason you are here on earth.
It is your purpose.
So go do it.

So this week I wrote a poem.
Had to write out my feelings, in such a shift we are having.
The empty clang of metal echoes against a flagpole in a deserted playground
it used to hold laughter
Condensation on my window, like my tears watching the latest news
Cotton ball of a cloud in the sky, defuses in an instant, like melting sugar in a pan
another soul gone
Unable to attend a game, I watch a one on one match of two squirrels in the weeds
I got my money on the fat one
Many a neighborhood is clapping at heroism, as our shores get Mercy and Comfort at last
Selecting groceries online
Do I really need to use my money to support an act of screams, so I try to refrain from my pleasure purchases
As semi-trucks with freezers in New York, stand by to take away another human shell, I wonder and watch the garbage truck pass underneath my window again, to take away our filth
I remain here, throwing away my numbed grief and
I remain curious
Feel like a Corona?
Ok, I admit for the last ten years I have been told to meditate.
I always have something else to do. U?
This week, to honor your unique self, just meditate. If you have a religious or spiritual belief, this unique self will show up when you meditate.
It will be
I say this because, after ten years, I am doing it with discipline.
No rules, if I miss a day, so what? I am doing it.
During this virus takeover, I took part in a national fifteen minute Hindu prayer on Facebook to chant for all beings on the earth now.
To be well, to not fear death, to be connected.
The priest led us in three Hindu chants in which included saying “OM” which refers to Oneness silently, out loud, and in prayer.
I admit, it helped me during this…..transition. Over 2000 people joined in,WOW!
So meditate and you may find U and what your unique squiggly song is, faster than you know it.

Today, I want to talk about how important laughter is. Given all the stress of being quarantined, corona virus information on social media, television, everywhere, we need to laugh.
Not being able to be a physical part of our communities that give us sanity in life, we must laugh daily now, more than ever.
Science has proven that laughter boosts immune cells. It does a real thing inside our bodies, which science will prove more and more as we evolve into the future.
Wouldn’t it be cool if laughing nonstop could destroy the corona virus like firing a laser beam at an enemy in a video game?
So find what makes you laugh and do it daily. It is my virtual recommendation vitamin.
